Mercobeef S.A.: Minerva’s New Argentine Angus Powerhouse
Mercobeef S.A. is Minerva Foods’ new Argentine slaughtering hub, incorporated under CUIT 30-71830820-4 and operating the historic Villa Mercedes facility known in the industry as Plant 1113. Acquired in the 7.5-billion-reais package of 16 Marfrig plants closed in October 2024, Mercobeef gives Minerva its first foothold in the beef-rich province of San Luis, raising Minerva’s Argentine daily kill capacity to almost 6 000 head and lifting its South-American export share past 20 percent.
The site already holds U.S., China and EU certifications, markets a full Angus-focused cut list, and keeps the 800-strong workforce that made “La Morocha” a regional employer of choice. What follows pulls together corporate filings, press releases, trade directories and provincial news reports to paint a 360-degree, roughly 1 000-word picture of the company.
